The Muslims vs the Christians!  The east vs the west. Republicans vs Democrats. I have solved the world’s problems. The constant bickering has to stop! Listening to CNN, CBC, BBC, FOX, The Atlantic or Al Jazeera is nothing but a parade of insults traded between hyper-constructed opponents whose only apparent profit is entertainment and undivided self-interest. The vernacular has led to saturation and disappointment. There has to be a better way.

Muslims (Arabic: مسلم‎, romanized: Muslim) are people who follow or practice Islam, a monotheistic Abrahamic religion. The derivation of “Muslim” is from an Arabic word meaning “submitter (to God)”. Muslims consider the Quran, their holy book, to be the verbatim word of God as revealed to the Islamic prophet and messenger Muhammad. The majority of Muslims also follow their own versions of compilations claimed to be the teachings and practices of Muhammad (sunnah) as recorded in traditional accounts (hadith).

What it is that distracts us from gainful employment in the adjustment of differences is as much a mystery as the problem itself. I cannot believe we haven’t a collective interest in problem solving. However given the tradition of the groundlings for amusement it has fallen to society’s putative leaders to direct the course. The credentials must include an uncompromising devotion to unity. The prerequisite to cooperate is the sine qua non.  There simply is no alternative.

Naturally all the leadership cannot come from the top. Those of us within the web or on the ground must learn to predicate our imperatives with a goal of mutual understanding and advancement. Seldom is the survivorship of only personal advantage cause for celebration. Aryianism is but one example.

For years before Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany, he was obsessed with ideas about race. In his speeches and writings, Hitler spread his beliefs in racial “purity” and in the superiority of the “Germanic race”—what he called an Aryan “master race.” He pronounced that his race must remain pure in order to one day take over the world. For Hitler, the ideal “Aryan” was blond, blue-eyed, and tall.

The first public meeting of the Nazi Party, then called the German Workers’ Party, takes place in Munich, Germany. Adolf Hitler issues a “25 Point Program” outlining the party’s political agenda. The party platform embodies racism. It demands racial purity in Germany; proclaims Germany’s destiny to rule over inferior races; and identifies Jews as racial enemies. Point 4 concludes that “No Jew, therefore, may be a member of the Nation.”

The absurdity of such specious argument is in my opinion axiomatic. I see only the product of inferior rationality and predisposition. Notably these intellectual culprits engaged the alleged support of “science” which not unexpectedly was entirely unsupported. The mixture of entitlement, anger and science was sufficient to retail the deceit to the uneducated and despairing public.  Hilary Clinton’s description of these visibly distraught members of society as the “deplorables” was unfortunate for the cause of improvement because it failed to address the differences while highlighting the combative innuendo.

The Nazis began to put their ideology into practice with the support of German scientists who believed that the human race could be improved by limiting the reproduction of people considered “inferior.”

We direct our children in school how to behave.  But we have seemingly omitted an agenda of behaviour for adults. The only resource from the misbehaviour by others is not their perpetual embarrassment but the example of improvement required. I am forever unable to understand how someone “at the top” garnered the ability to direct war.  This has to be the most preposterous ambition.

What little mediation I did professionally frequently involved a preliminary direction, “Lock the door; no one leaves until we all agree!” It worked because agreement is what everyone wants. People have better and happier things to do than disagree and fight. I have never met anyone who hadn’t a desire to use available capital for mutual advantage. That objective in my opinion goes far beyond any illusory or ephemeral gain; and, it captures the features of existence which truly augment the real worth of humanity.

The strains upon the human soul will never be relieved by indulgence, intoxication or taradiddle. If we all look out for one another there will be far less to look out for!
