New stuff

Our first stop early this sunny Friday morning was Bed Bath & Beyond in Stittsville on the Hazeldean Road. We dealt with an exceedingly pleasant young woman who, although she confessed our particular interest was not within her baliwick, she nonetheless directed us precisely to the products we sought and assisted us in related retail matters.  She had unwittingly put a spring in our step on this weekend prelude!

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. is an American chain of domestic merchandise retail stores. The chain operates many stores in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. Bed Bath & Beyond was founded in 1971. It is counted among the Fortune 500 and the Forbes Global 2000.

Our second stop was back in the country in Carleton Place at the New Oak Tree on the Town Line.  There we met with Damon who has years of experience in retail and who expertly assisted us in the location of the furnishing we had in mind.

In 2012, we had the opportunity to purchase The New Oak Tree. We wanted to have a company that offered the customer a different experience, one that included solid wood furniture ( primarily Canadian made), outstanding sales consultants, the best after sales service and warranty ( in house delivery team with full set up, lifetime warranty on solid wood pieces) all at unbeatable prices for handcrafted furniture.

We were on a roll!  And it was still just shortly after noon.  Somehow the conversation arose concerning a new UNLIMITED DATA plan being offered by Bell Canada to its mobility customers.  We are long-standing customers of Bell Canada. Curiously however we have until now successfully avoided the allure and cost of DATA usage.  In fact we have engaged in rather sharp communications on numerous occasions with Ma Bell devoted to objection to unwarranted DATA charges to our accounts especially when we slipped across the Canadian border to the United States of America. It has accordingly been an annual contamination and annoyance. Today we absolved the issue. Or should I say, dissolved the issue. We now both have an UNLIMITED DATA plan.

The process of contracting the plan for both iPhones on our joint account (and the contemporaneous trade-in and replacement of the old phones for new iPhones 13 Mini) was handled superbly by Abood Alkurd, Sales Consultant, Bell Canada. Bayshore Shopping Mall, Ottawa (Nepean), Ontario. He could not possibly have been more kind, polite, helpful and instructive.  Watching him was like watching a surgeon at work!  He was assiduous, cautious, patient and helpful. To be specific, he answered our questions; he completed the data transfer between each iPhone; he gave helpful advice; he was meticulous in all that he did; and, as I told him at the conclusion of our business, he deserves a medal for his boundless patience! In short, Abood  Alkurd is a credit to retail in general and to Bell Canada in particular!
