Preparing for take-off!

Wandering about the countryside today in my aeronautical Aviator I caught myself idly reminiscing. The memories were prompted by an apparent thirst for purpose. Seemingly there is no satisfaction without fulfillment; and there is no fulfillment without industry. I wasn’t long in reckoning that the perpetual ambition for anything in the future is but a diversion from the rewards of the present. Perhaps I can be forgiven for lingering momentarily upon the past wherein after all there are similarly choice contemplations.

Whatever path it is that one takes it is imperative not to be so distracted as to miss the currency of affairs. The characterization of the past – even though we obviously have the evidence – is susceptible to alteration, both good and bad. Unless one for some odd reason relishes the risk, the equivocation is a warning not to allow oneself to be persuaded by the shilly-shallying. And as cheering as memories may be, they are but dust to the appetite, there is no gratification real or otherwise. It goes without saying that one should however be grateful “for what we had“.

Some Other Time

Where has the time all gone to
Haven’t done half the things we want to
Oh well, we’ll catch up some other time

This day was just a token
Too many words are still unspoken
Oh well, we’ll catch up some other time

Just when the fun is starting
Comes the time for parting
But, let’s just be glad for what we had
And what’s to come

There’s some much more embracing
Still to be done but time is racing
Oh well, we’ll catch up some other time

There’s some much more embracing
Still to be done but time is racing
Oh well, we’ll catch up some other time
