We spent yesterday afternoon touring about the South Shore of Nova Scotia with our good friends Jay and Alana. Since we first met on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina over a decade ago real estate has figured significantly in our relationship. Yesterday we had an introduction to three properties owned by the them in the area of Chester and Mahone Bay.
The foregathering was however predominantly social; and we ended dining on the Halifax waterfront along the boardwalk. Our intimacy at table extended nearly 4 hours. Aside from sampling an uncommonly wide variety of items on the menu, our conversation touched upon an equally diverse number of topics ranging from romance to business to family to pets, covering years of the past and limitless roadways into the future.
As I suspect is not unusual in circumstances such as these, the possibility of transitioning from Ontario to Nova Scotia surfaced repeatedly. The occasion also encouraged a critical assessment of one’s current affairs and geography.
For the moment however we braced ourselves with an early morning departure to Digby, Nova Scotia to collect the ferry to Saint John, New Brunswick.
